My dear boy,
In Pawns Cannot Become Kings, I highlighted how environments conform men by placing demands on them and assigning roles to these men. Thus, if any man must rise above certain limitations placed on their character, the situation demands that they either break free or fight to change the rules.
Likewise, in the realm of the spirit, revelations are destinations. This is why we all can be in church, but experience God differently. Not because He loves some more than others, but because some have arrived at a certain destination, which is a revelation of His Word.
“Be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” As such, it is the light you need. You must have the light. Isaiah 60 says, “Arise, shine, for your light has come…” Certain possibilities can be conceived because of the light. The Lord says, “Let there be light, and there was light.” Now, when you think about it, it wasn’t the ”light” as in the sun. It was light, as in understanding, that knowing. It was the minute that light hit that He began creation. Hence, some have lingered too long in an environment fighting for a lost cause.
The lost cause here is not their dreams or their aspirations. It is termed a lost cause because of the environment: they are stuck in a place that does not permit growth beyond that level. It therefore follows that they either break free or change the rules. These rules are therefore set to help them attain their visions. Then again, isn’t it foolishness to row against the tide when you can simply flow with it?
If you have attained the utmost height you could within an environment, wisdom begs that you change environment. Perhaps it’s a job in a company, and you’ve reached your apex, and it feels like, “if I stay here, nothing more can come,” then it’s time for you to move. By the way, I once worked for an employer who shared wisdom with me. They said, if you work at any place and learn nothing new in six months, quit.
Now, remember, I shared two things: one, you either move, that is, change the environment, or two, you change the rules. I’m going to paint a picture for you. The Bible is very clear on Nazareth. No good thing comes from Nazareth. In fact, in Zechariah, we understand that it says, “These are the carpenters that have kept men down so that no man did lift up his head.” As a result, it’s obvious that within environments there are heights that must not be crossed. These we call limitations.
And then we see in Zachariah, obviously, that these men are able to break free from that because of the anointed ones: the sons of fresh oil. The Bible says, “How God anointed Jesus Christ of Nazareth, who went about doing good…” This is the same man who comes from the same location that nothing good could come out of. Hence, we see in real time that it is possible to change the rules, and the spiritual tool for changing such rules, my boy, is called the anointing.
The absence of the anointing would warrant that you change your environment, and I do not blame a lot of people who migrate now and then. Everyone plays to their strengths. Nevertheless, understand that migration is not just a physical phenomenon; it’s also a spiritual one. Perhaps you’ve stayed in a location for too long, and there is a location that we understand to be death. The wages of sin is death, my boy, and until we are born again, that is our spiritual location. But the minute we accept Jesus, we change locations.
However, within this new location, which is in Christ Jesus, a host of believers fail to move from point A to point B. Now these points are what we call revelations. The revelation of God’s Word. You must labor to enter into them. You study the Word. It comes from knowledge. (I have to be careful here because “knowing” doesn’t necessarily mean “revealed.” There is, nonetheless, a symbiotic relationship between the two: as you seek to know, it is revealed.) You have to know. If you do not know, you cannot act on them. Accordingly, it’s important to give yourself to studying to understand better what is accrued to you, else you miss out on appropriating all that has been made available in Christ Jesus.
Therefore, this goes back to my prior intent in “Pawns Cannot Become Kings.” It follows that a pawn can become a king by the anointing or simply by changing locations, or by changing the environment, or the simulation. You have to be a madman to do the same thing over and over and expect a different result each time. That’s insanity!
Thereupon, we have to understand the environment wherein we are, understand how that environment operates, understand how that environment assigns roles, and the roles that the environment assigns to people. The minute we have such an understanding, then we know what we are up against. “We are in the world, but we are not of the world.” That tells you that our physical location and our spiritual location are not the same. So, we operate from a place outside of this world, while in this world.
To operate in a place from outside of it tells you from whence we’re operating. We’re operating from a height above it. The Bible says, “We’re seated with Christ in heavenly places, far above principalities and powers.” In other words, a believer sees as God sees, which is the omniscient point of view. It means that we can see all of it at once. And this is realized, of course, in the gift of the prophetic. Such that, through the Spirit, we can see yesterday, today, and tomorrow, as He allows us. But does this make us God? No, because we only operate to the degree that He permits. Remember, it’s His gift working in us for the profit of all. Hitherto, we have not ruled out that fact.
Now, can we trigger these giftings? Of course! You must know how to. If that could not be done, there would be no need for the School of Prophets, because the school taught you how to stir up the gift, how to control it, for the spirit of the prophet is under the prophet.
My dear boy, accordingly, we must bear in mind these things, and then ask ourselves, in this game, in this environment, in this simulation, which could be an academic institution, the marketplace, a physical location, even, it could be a ministry, or marriage, it could be anything, how high can I go? (You must know how high you want to go) It’s a question we must ask very early. Sometimes, looking at those who have gone ahead, you can deduce the answer.
Now, such an answer should not be taken hook, line, and sinker, in the sense that achievements are furnished by personal inclinations and passions. Verily, we cannot remove a person from their achievements. Invariably, we cannot divorce a person and their innuendos from their achievements. Because all of those put together birth what we call their achievement. By the way, when you join an organization, pay attention to how the oldest employee is treated because that will be you in no time.
Again, my dear boy, I believe this is one of those questions that you must answer for yourself: Can pawns become Kings? By what technology can they become Kings, if yes? Whatever your answer may be, I am certain that it will be tied to the idea of agency. Above all, remember this: you decide your fate, and your life is simply a combination of all the choices you’ve made. At a certain point, you just have to accept that.
