My dear boy,
Unbalanced teaching of God’s word is dangerous. I write to you to make clear certain struggles you will face a few years from now. You will have erections. You will wake up with them. Strong erections are only a sign that you are a healthy male. It’s when your ntanta is stiff because blood has flowed down there. It is neither devilish nor sinful.
As a little boy, I fell for a lie. Although I was the son of a preacher, I followed after other preachers. This, in itself, wasn’t out of place as I was taught to drink freely from other wells that sprang good water. But preachers’ children are fond of seeking graces on the lives of other preachers, even though it was on their parents. And I wasn’t an exception.
I drank from the wrong well, and shortly after, I suffered diarrhea. This preacher had taught that it was the “Adamic nature” which was responsible for erections, and a born-again, truly dead to sin, wouldn’t wake up with one.
After hearing that message, I wept for days. See, I was a young man whose perpetual experience was a full erection. I would later come to know that it was the case with the men of our bloodline. So, I wept and prayed and begged God to take away the erections. Days became weeks, and weeks turned into months, yet nothing happened. I began to question God’s love for me. Could this be my own thorn in the flesh? But God’s grace couldn’t be sufficient for something He couldn’t condone. I became an angry young man who had somehow believed that God did not love him.
Eventually, I resolved in my heart to help God cleanse me. Mind you, prior to this moment, I had given my life to Christ Jesus. I was filled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues. I had preached a number of messages and was well acquainted with the reality of people getting healed when I prayed for them. I saw visions and I did prophesy. A number of times, I had cast out devils. But an error was about to take me out.
I took a kitchen knife and set a date. I was going to cut off my ntanta. I was going to get rid of the sinful nature. Now, I will be clean. I will be acceptable before God.
However, none of these made sense. I was a student given to the study of human biology. The subject fascinated me. The same boy who, in primary six, tasted his own excreta to confirm its tastelessness, just as his teacher had said. I know urine is salty, and it wasn’t because I read it in a book- I tasted it. So, I wasn’t a dumb, gullible child. Besides, we’re not saved by works. Our righteousness, at best, is like a filthy rag.
As days went by, my morning erections grew stronger, and my resolve for the cleansing ritual grew weaker. With time, I gave up on the idea of cutting my ntanta. Boy, am I glad I did!
In time, as God wouldn’t take my erections, I gave my erections to women who found it most valuable and dedicated them to uses I never thought possible.
My dear boy, erections are a sign that you’re a healthy male, and the urge you feel to be with the opposite sex is God-given. It is because He trusts us to use it to His glory. Hence, we are to act on those urges only within the confines of marriage. Above all, guard your heart, for out of it come the issues of life; do not dwell on corruption. Flee youthful lusts! Talk soon.
Love,
Dad.
