Trump's Dangerous Romance and Centurion Rise in American Politics by Henry Berida

by Admin

Donald Trump’s rise in American politics is a classic example of achieving the impossible. Many Americans believed Trump was inexperienced and had no chance against Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton in 2016. Yet, the improbable happened as Trump defeated Clinton in a highly competitive election. However, Trump’s ascent did not end there. After facing numerous legal battles and uphill challenges, Trump is once again the President-Elect of the United States of America. He achieved the seemingly impossible dream and proved his critics wrong. This raises a key question: How did Trump’s extraordinary resurgence come to be?

In January 2021, Trump was impeached for the second time by the United States Congress for allegedly inciting the so-called “insurrection” against the democratic institutions of the U.S. Trump left the Oval Office in disgrace, criticized by the media and even members of his own party. For Republicans, it was a day of shame, while Democrats celebrated, convinced that Trump was finished—gone for good and destined to be a figure of ridicule. But it didn’t stop there. After leaving office, Trump faced a litany of legal challenges, including federal and state election interference cases, a hush money trial, and the classified documents case. He became the first U.S. president to be indicted and convicted, leading Democrats to sigh in relief, believing that Donald Trump was politically finished.

Fast forward to 2022, and Trump defied expectations by announcing his candidacy for the 2024 presidential elections. His announcement sparked debates across the media, with many pundits dismissing his chances. He was harshly criticized by the press, while some Republicans—including Vivek Ramaswamy, Ron DeSantis, Mike Pence, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Nikki Haley—openly challenged him. Despite these challenges, Trump emerged as the frontrunner for the Republican nomination, solidifying his place as a key player in American politics.

During the presidential debates against Joe Biden, Trump outperformed expectations, leaving Democrats with one option: replacing Biden with Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee. Aware that the aging and unpopular Biden had little chance against Trump, the Democrats attempted to shift the narrative by emphasizing Harris’s candidacy. Yet, even this strategy failed. Trump faced two assassination attempts, was labeled a Hitler sympathizer, and was repeatedly insulted and maligned. Despite being accused of everything from criminal behavior to pedophilia, Trump triumphed and became the 47th President of the United States. His meteoric comeback shocked the world. But how did he win?

As the New York Times put it, “Trump is one lucky bastard.” His victory wasn’t just luck; it reflected a shift in public perception. While Democrats believed his legal troubles would ruin his reputation, many Americans saw them as a politically motivated witch hunt. Trump managed to turn adversity into an advantage, presenting himself as a resilient, fearless politician. The liberal media attempted to paint Trump as a reincarnation of Hitler, a strategy that backfired.

The media overlooked the fact that many of Trump’s supporters were pro-Israel, with even Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu seen as a close ally. This disconnect highlighted media bias and boosted Trump’s appeal among his base. Trump also capitalized on America’s economic challenges, while the Democrats focused on reproductive rights and democracy. Kamala Harris alienated voters by neglecting pressing economic issues, whereas Trump promised to improve the economy and secure the border. His focus on these key issues resonated with struggling Americans.

Elon Musk, a vocal advocate for free speech, played a significant role in Trump’s resurgence. While Harris received endorsements from celebrities and the Obamas, Musk’s support carried more weight. Additionally, influential podcasters like Joe Rogan amplified Trump’s message, connecting him to voters who felt ignored by traditional media.

Donald Trump’s return to the White House marks one of the most remarkable comebacks in U.S. political history. He not only overcame immense personal and political challenges but also delivered a Republican trifecta. For some, he remains a divisive figure and a danger to global stability, but the American people have spoken. The cat with seven lives is back in the Oval Office.
