Accredited or Unaccredited?

The Agony of Pioneer Students in Federal Universities by Anonymous

by Admin

Caught between uncertainty and frustration, like being surrounded by ripe fruit you can’t reach—grapes you’re tired of, and berries just out of grasp.

Imagine watching two graduating classes march past you, while your dreams are put on hold indefinitely.

Three entire sets, including yours, are trapped in this limbo.

This is where the bitterness begins—fed up with waiting, exhausted by false hope.

Friends and family constantly ask, ‘How’s life after school?’ Yet here you are, still living in a state of academic purgatory.

This, my dear, is the life after school that pioneer students of new departments at the University of Calabar have been introduced to.

They face skepticism from all corners, even from their own parents. Meanwhile, they watch colleagues from other departments fulfill their final duties and move on to the NYSC Camp.

This experience is like being an experimental animal, tossed about by forces beyond your control.

Parents, your child’s future is at risk. If they are enrolled in an unaccredited program, act now—encourage them to transfer to an accredited course or reapply elsewhere.

Pioneer students deserve answers and action. It’s time for the university and the government to step up and ensure their futures are not sacrificed to administrative failures.

There are bodies responsible for accreditation. And yet, I ask—why?

Why can’t the NUC accredit existing sets?

Why are students being held in limbo for years?

Is this not a conundrum that demands immediate action?
