3 Building Blocks of Branding That You Can Apply to Your Life

Branding

Dearly beloved male reader,

You are a necessary part of this world. The world as we know it exists because of you; if you were no more the world would cease to exist. It, therefore, goes without saying that upon your shoulders rests this world. Just as Richard Grenier rightly said, “people sleep peacefully in their beds at night, only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.” On that note, I wish to write to you about branding and why it is of great importance, for our journey begins today and we must navigate the world.

You may not care about what the world thinks, and I believe you shouldn’t. But the world sadly does not share my sentiment. This is because in the world we live in perception is reality. As such, it is inconsequential what the reality may be- people take you as they perceive you. So, to get what you want, you have to play ball: brand yourself!

Should you however conform to the world? No! Hence, think of branding as a compromise, a sacrifice that must be made, a means to an end, if you will. The. Necessary. Evil. With that said, I shall share three building blocks of branding with us in this letter and how we may apply them to our lives. First, understand that the world is your marketplace. And every product sells no matter the cost. So, interact with the world. Step out and have fun. Meet new people. Say, two new people every week. You must do this to take step two.

Second, indeed.com says “position your product and business.” Listen, you are your business, and you are your product. So develop yourself. You cannot afford to remain crude. Read, exercise, eat right, and pay attention to your overall body health because it affects your productivity. You need to be functional. You have to be functional. Never negotiate that! Now that you’re interacting with the world, what’s the best way to position yourself? You sift through your contacts: those you meet. Be intentional. Be thorough in separating the wheat from the chaff. “Wheat” is those crucial to your success and growth. The area of your life you wish to develop doesn’t matter, nonetheless, strive for all-round development. By interacting with the wheat you are better positioned for success. Remember success is never a mistake.

Third, you define your company’s personality. We have established that you are your business. That is your company. Your personality is what people perceive. It is what comes to mind the minute they see you. What do you want that to be? A gentleman? A rogue? You decide that. A gentleman, nevertheless, is always best- you get away with anything. I recommend it.

Your personality is created through the following:

  1. the way you dress: this also includes the way you smell,
  2. the way you speak: are you calm and collected when you speak?
  3. the way you walk: are you confident? Have you got some swagger in those steps? You need some suave.

I do understand that these may be a lot to take in but that is what I’m here for- to walk you through it. I shall keep writing to you and please, feel free to write to me too via the comments. I welcome you aboard The Patriarch Train and our destination is Betterman Ville.

The chief patriarch.
